Most payroll software requires you to not only do rollovers when you change from one payroll period to the next, it also requires you to do a rollover from one financial year to the next - that can also give errors and freeze only for you to have to call them and email their support for assistance, like we do not have to process payroll urgently. Other payroll software also limits you to one pay period per company. This is where openHR is different. We never require you to do a rollover, you can process which ever period for which ever pay frequency whenever you like. And when you are ready to close the period, simply run your monthly statutory submission and you are done.
